Türkiye grants full citizenship, not residence, from USD 400,000 in property, with no minimum stay and no language requirement, in roughly eight to nine months from filing. Greece and Portugal grant residence that can lead to citizenship over five to seven years. Malta grants citizenship at a far higher cost and on a longer timeline. The Caribbean programmes are faster and cheaper but deliver a passport with narrower visa-free access.
Comparing them on headline price alone is misleading, because they are not the same product. A Greek or Portuguese golden visa is a residence permit; Turkish citizenship by investment is a passport at the end of the same year. Whether that difference matters depends entirely on what you need it for.
The honest answer is that Türkiye is the wrong choice for some objectives. If Schengen residence rights are the point, a European programme serves you better regardless of cost. If you need the widest possible visa-free access, Türkiye is not the strongest passport on the list.

Türkiye is materially cheaper than Malta. Compared to the Caribbean programmes the entry cost is higher, but the Turkish investment is a returnable asset rather than a non-refundable donation.
No. Türkiye is not a member of the European Union and Turkish citizenship does not confer EU rights or Schengen residence.
No. There is no minimum stay requirement before or after the application, which distinguishes it from several European residence programmes.
