A Turkish citizenship file typically runs eight to nine months from the application being filed to the presidential decree, with the purchase, valuation and certificate of conformity adding roughly two months before that. Applicants are rarely told what normal looks like, so an ordinary wait and a genuine problem feel identical.
Delays cluster at particular stages. The source of funds review sits with the bank and is the single most common cause of a file stalling. Valuation shortfalls stop property files before they start. Security and archive screening at the citizenship stage varies considerably by nationality, and there is no way to accelerate it.
What is not a delay: a period of silence after the file is submitted to the Ministry. Turkish authorities do not provide running status updates, and the absence of news is not itself a signal.
